Typically when I pick the babes up from school Finny presents an armload of art projects.
Castles out of cardboard. Paintings with glitter. Nature glued to cardstock.
Parker?
Nothing. Ever.
The teachers send out emails on a pretty regular basis with pictures of the babes going ons.
Finny at the craft table. Check.
Finny in a smock. Check.
Parker?
He's never been in a picture.

I asked him about this a few months ago and his response?
"Art is lame Mom. I only like science."

Aaaannnnd the similarities between him and his father continue.

Since returning to school after the break the children have started making simple machines.
Parker is SO all about it.
Levers, pulleys, wheels and axles, fulcrums...it couldn't be more up his ally.

I stumbled upon this book a few weeks ago and P has slept with it ever since.
Chromatography was a hit- remember that experiment? Coffee filters and markers...

The volcano was a total winner
(Please excuse my freak out at the end of the video. Red 40 is an absolute banned substance in this house and in my babes' bodies. I broke down and bought a bottle of red food coloring for the experiment and when Finny put her hands in it I kind of flipped.)

But the Mentos in a bottle of soda (also purchased solely for the sake of science) took the cake...

We talked about what a hypothesis was and then hypothesized which soda would spout highest.
We were all wrong.
Coke was the winner.
Have I mentioned lately how awesome parenting big kids is?!
